Arata Hiroyuki (Character design)

This was a class exercise I did in Character Design class. We had to fill some questions the teacher sent us in a document regarding the age of the character, breed, name, from where is he from, the social and political status of the moment he is situated, the personality... So I made up Arata Hiroyuki, a Japanese teenager that is living in a post-apocaliptic Japan, in particular, in Tennoji (Osaka) although his group and himself don't have a settled home due to the chaotic situation, but right now that's where they are settled for the moment as it's a really good location as it has a lot of hiding spots, has parks, there should be a lot of food, medicines, drinks, clothes...everything they could need around the city. About his personality, he is a really nice guy, cheerful, lovely and funny with his loved ones, kinda clumsy, childish and sometimes intense, he gets excited and emotional easily, really observant and smart even if he doesn't seem like. Even though he is nice, if there's any kind of menace to his loved ones, he can be really scary when mad.

Things he likes/things he can do:
- His family/friends
- To eat a lot
- Fix and create new objects
- He tries to avoid using them if it's no necessary, but he can use weapons really good.
- Parkour
- Everything related to space: stars, moon, planets...
- Water and marine living forms, he really loves aquariums, he gets lost in it's colours and lights.
- Tech-wear

He doesn't like/he can't do:
- Cook. Never let him be in charge of the kitchen. For everyone's sake.
- His group being menaced.
- Conflict

Although the colours of the final design are not like any of the color palettes section, we had also to work with different kind of color palettes (they had to be in flat colors), we had to choose a complementary color pallette and we had to do 3 different design with variantions in light and saturation, we had to choose also adjacent colour palette and create 3 different deisgns as well, and lastly, we could do a free color palette selection, so I choose the primary colours to work with 3 different designs too.
