Maba (Final Character Design Project)

This was the final project for the subject "Character Design" from the master I'm currently attending. We had to design 4 characters from the same universe (1 main character, 1 antagonist and 2 side characters). In this case, we had the briefing from Maba, with her physical traits, backstory, her personality and how she behaves around people.. for the other 3 characters, we were totally free to do whatever we wanted. A summary of the characters would be:

Maba: she's the main character, she is half human and half goddess of nature, she was abandoned in the jungle (located in Birmany, actual Myanmar) when she was little and she is currently around 15. Her appearence is like a normal human, with oriental traits and dark skin typical from Birmany, but the only distinctive things are the white flock of hair and her green eyes, which they are due to her half-goddess condition. She is dressed with light clothes as it's really hot in the jungle and torn apart in some parts as she moves around the jungle. About her personality, she is kind hard-minded, stubborn, serious, self-confident, sometimes she can have an explose personality but she is not aggresive really mature for her age, has a special something for nature, she will fight to death to protect the jungle. At first, she is a bit distant around humans but little by little she is more open to them and even love them, she is persistent, a good fighter, she is eager to fight to change the world and situation of explotation and deforestation Birmany is having at that time.

Maung Kha: he is an hybrid, half human and half tiger. Originally, he was a tiger but Maba with her nature powers (which include all living things, not only plants), transformed him into an hybrid so they could communicate properly and she could have a friend, he knows Maba since she was little, when she was abandoned. Physically, he is a little smaller than Maba but more corpulent, even though he is slim. He has both human and tiger traits. For the tiger part, his legs and arms, the marks all over his body, his feline eyes, his tail and ears... and for the human part, he has oriental traits, fisonomy of the face, his face, his torso, the fact that he is wearing human clothes too. About his personality, he may seem serious and quite but deep down, he is a really nice guy. He is really protector of Maba as he knows her since little and he loves her a lot, even if he doesn't verbally express it never, his facts speak, really observant too. He can be a bit clumsy in situations where thee's no danger and he can be really adorable. Around humans, he is like Maba at first or even more distant, but then he gets more relaxed around them. Kids love him even though he doesn't do any kind of effort to make it happen.

Paan Dar Ne: he is the spirit of a Red Panda. He died sometime ago and he is Ko Nya's companion/assistans. He is like a normal Red Panda but with the usual wavy lower part of the body like ghosts. About his personality, he is funny, joyful, happy, a bit of a clown, but deep down he is really sad and concerned because he doesn't know what happened to his family when he died, he doesn't know if they escaped or died too, so that doesn't let him rest in peace and stayed on Earth, he tries to mask it with her cheerful character but he also does genuine smiles most of the time. He loves to spend time around Ko Nya and takes really seriosly his job as his assitant. He floats around and can go through things except from the place where half-gods and gods are without their permission. It's really rare to see him angry, but he is not keen on humans for what happened to his family and friends and himself, and because he doesn't know what happened to his partner and kids.

Ko Nya: he is the antagonist (but not necessarily has to be a bad person). He is an 18-year-old half god half human and, in contrast with Maba, he was not abandoned, in spite of he was trained as the guardian of the souls from the living things in the jungle that died and takes care of them and guides them. He is athletic, taller than Maba, they share the flock of hair and green eyes because of their condition of half-gods, but he also presents oriental traits and dark skin. He dressed up using a Longi (clothes originary from Birmany) and sandals, he also has a Lion tattoo as it represents the animal that was adjudicated to the day he was born. He also wear a craneum as an accesory on his head. He also lives in the jungle, but where gods and half gods live. About his personality, he is a really nice guy, caring, loving, cheerful, treats everyone with respect above all his superiors, but when he is mad he doesn't listen. He feels like Mada attempted to do tration both to the gods and half gods and also to the jungle, so he is full of rage towards her because she is getting more comfortable with humans, the same that are destroying the jungle.
